These are the parts forming the firewall. No, we have no insecure network on the plane, we've got a firewall!
Here is one of the rare production errors of Van's: the right flange in the firewall recess has not been bent properly. It is not flush to the firewall. I tried to repair it myself and it came out adequate.
All parts have been fitted - deburring and priming next...
Here you see one reason why this chapter takes so long without having a lot of parts: having a lot of RIVETS!

The white part is where the front wheel will be mounted so it should be strong. Only this part has 60 rivets.

For those who have to rivet the firewall alone: use your 'C-Frame'! It's slow, but all rivets came out nicely and none had to be replaced.
Here is a close-up. The red stuff, by the way, is high temperature silicone, good for 250°C. Much easier to work with than the recommended Proseal.
Here is one last picture of the 'C-Frame' riveting process.
The question if and whow to insulate/sound proof the firewall is a though one. I sellted on a swedish Product called Noxudol.

If you are interested in it, you can find it at http://www.noxudolusa.com/ under Products -> Sound Dampening.

The application was not too complicated (it took five hours) and I am satisfied with the result. But of course this can't really be judged before I fly  ... ;-)
