I started the rudder as I had to wait for my advisor to
inspect the Vertical Stabilizer. The deburring takes its time, but then
it goes together quite quickly. |
| On a visit from my brother-in-law, he helped me to put
together the skeleton. |

The Rudder clecoed together. Now all holes must be
matchdrilled, then all pieces taken apart again, all holes deburred from
each side, which means putting a deburring tool into the hole and swivel
twice. You do that four times for every rivet to be set. You also dimple
ribs and skins. So you are busy for some hours |
| Here you see the rudder skins primed. I am not sure yet
if I shall love or hate priming. It improved this time compared to the
VS. However the ribs are very light and they were just blown away from
the table by the air from the paint gun. So the results were less than
perfect. Live and learn... |

On Friday 18 February I finished the rudder, after 31 hours construction
time. |
