As I ran out of work, I started on the wing ribs. One funny job is fluting. That means that you straighten the ribs. On the right you see a small gap between the rib and the reference.
On the left you see that the gap is gone, but there are some dimples - flutes - in the rib flange.
It was more than 20 hours work to get this pile ready. But now they are ready to be riveted to the main spar.
Well, almost. The flap brackets had to be reveted first.
The first four have been riveted.
And now the right wing is 'complete'.

Here is a major setback: I abused the rivets and they look like a cap. If that happens to you, do the following:

  1. Reduce compressor pressure.
  2. Make sure the rivet is not longer than necessary (1.5d).
  3. Press the gun firmly to the rivet.
