The
Workshop is on the ground floor. It is about 6.5 by 5 meters, but with 'cutouts'
in two corners. I hope to be able to make all parts at home (= homebuilt
aircraft!) and then only do the final assembly at the airport.
I takes time before you can get started. Unload the
crates (four in my case as I orderd Empennage as well as Wing kit in order
to keep shipping costs down), unpacking them, inventorying everything (there
are millions of parts - and none missing - outstanding job by Van's!),
organize all parts so you will find them again, and at the end getting rid
of the crates. As my space is limited it probably took me longer than
necessary, 18 hours all in all. But with the exception of two large prebent
skins (tailcone sideskins) I managed to get all into my shop!

The first pieces of the Vertical
Stabilizer are on the working table. They are waiting for deburring,
dimpling, priming, riveting... |
| Here you see my mobile platform
with band saw, grinder, drill press and vice. Below there are some
drawers. |

 |
All hardware comes in tiny
paper bags. 50 of them in each kit. During inventory you should look
into each of them (altough I didn't count the rivets!) |
| This is a picture
from my painting room in the basement. The ventilator on the back
wall I can bear the priming process, even if I still do not feel
that comfortable. |

the shop. |

Also the horizontal stabilizer is hanging from the ceiling. |

As I was running out of space in my
shop, I had to move my wings. |
|
Here you see the wing stand and one wing moved down where I prime my
parts. |
